Day 1 - Individual arrival at Lake Traunsee
Individual arrival in Altmünster for your hiking holiday and check-in in your hotel. Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful city of Gmunden and a boat trip on Lake Traunsee. The Grünberg cable car will take you to the heights to get you in the mood for your hiking vacation. From here, you can hike to the picturesque Laudachsee lake, which is accessible via easy trails. Continue your hike around Traunstein Mountain via the Hohe Scharte for breathtaking views. Stop at the Moaralm for a meal of local specialties before descending to Lake Traunsee. There you can end the day with a relaxing boat ride from Hoisn to Ebensee (ticket included). The hiking day starts with a cable car ride to the Feuerkogel, which takes you up to the impressive plateau of the Höllengebirge. From there, hike to the top of the Großer Höllkogel, the highest peak in the region, for a breathtaking view of the Salzkammergut. After the descent, stop at the cozy Berggasthof Edelweiss for a hearty meal before returning to the Feuerkogel mountain station. The cable car takes you back down to Ebensee, where you continue your journey by train to Bad Goisern. The hike starts in Bad Goisern and takes you through picturesque forests and across open mountain pastures to the Goiserer Hütte, idyllically situated at the foot of the Kalmberg. Here you can enjoy not only the cosy atmosphere but also the excellent cuisine: from hearty regional dishes such as home-made 'Kasnocken' and bacon plates to sweet treats such as 'Kaiserschmarrn', the Goiserer Hütte is an insider tip for connoisseurs. After a well-earned break, you can start the descent to Gosau, always accompanied by the impressive mountain scenery of the Salzkammergut. Your hiking day begins with an idyllic walk along the Gosau Panorama Trail, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, to the valley station of the Gosaukammbahn cable car. After taking the cable car to the top station, continue your hike along the Herrenweg path and via the Hornspitz middle station. After an exhilarating hike, treat yourself to a well-deserved break at the Gosaustubn, where you will be treated to regional delicacies. Fresh trout from Lake Gosau, homemade dumplings and venison dishes, accompanied by side dishes and seasonal specialities, rounded off with delicious pastries. After this culinary highlight, you will return to Gosau feeling revitalised. Your hike takes you to the rustic Rossalm, known for its welcoming atmosphere and traditional alpine cuisine. Here you can enjoy regional delicacies such as bacon sandwiches, alpine cheeses and freshly baked farmhouse bread surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Well fortified, continue your walk over the Durchgangalm and down to the world-famous town of Hallstatt. From here you can take the bus to Obertraun, before taking the Krippenstein cable car up to the breathtaking high mountain scenery of the Krippenstein Important note: remember to take your own luggage with you on the cable car. Here, at an altitude of 2,000 metres, is the cosy Krippenstein Lodge, offering unique accommodation in the midst of high alpine surroundings and an unforgettable view of the Dachstein mountain range. From the top station, start an impressive round trip on the Heilbronnerweg. The trail leads to the striking Heilbronner Kreuz, a popular viewpoint, before continuing to the spectacular 5 Fingers. This famous viewing platform offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Salzkammergut and Lake Hallstatt. After returning to the Krippenstein mountain station, take the cable car down into the valley Important note: remember to bring your own luggage. Take the train from Obertraun back to Traunsee, the starting point of your hike in the Salzkammergut. Note for people with reduced mobility:
The hiking tour is generally not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Passport and visa requirements:
A valid passport or identity card is required for the hotel check-in.
Special entry requirements may apply for foreign nationals (outside the Schengen area). Each traveler is responsible for obtaining a visa in good time.
Payment conditions:
Terms of payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due no later than 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The remaining payment is due 14 days before departure.
Cancellation and withdrawal conditions:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer can withdraw from the contract in writing at any time. In the event of withdrawal or non-commencement of the trip, the following withdrawal fees apply
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from the 27th to the 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from the 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the travel price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer changes the travel date up to 28 days before departure, we charge a processing fee of € 50.00 per booking. Thereafter, the cancellation conditions apply. Such a rebooking can only be made according to the possibilities in individual cases; the customer has no claim to this.
